When it comes to textile printing, there’s a common misconception that the inks used contain harmful chemicals and the fabrics are sourced from anywhere and everywhere. At Magic Textiles, we take our environmental responsibility seriously and are committed to reducing waste and maintaining clean production practices.
Here’s a closer look at the steps we take to ensure our printing process is both ethical and sustainable:
We use reactive inks for all our printing, which not only offers superior rub and wash fastness but also conforms to the Oeko-tex standard 100. This means that our inks contain no harmful chemicals, and our research and development department has confirmed that all the materials used in our ink production processes are synthetic and not derived from animal products.
As part of our digital printing process, we wash our fabrics at up to 70 degrees to remove any preparation solution and unfixed dyes. The resulting waste water is processed through an effluent plant and released back to public water treatment processing plants. This helps to minimise our impact on the environment and ensure clean production practices.
At Magic Textiles, we make everything to order, which means we don’t have any redundant stock that would eventually be thrown away. In the rare instances where we have waste fabric, we reuse it in other processes within our factory. This helps us minimise waste and reduce our carbon footprint.
We are always looking for ways to improve our processes and reduce our impact on the environment. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our ethical and sustainable printing practices, please feel free to reach out to us at info@magictextiles.co.uk or give us a call at 01538388877.
